Biography

Dr. Duston Morris is the Department Chair and Associate Professor of Health and Wellness Coaching. With more than 20 years of experience in teaching, coaching, and training across a variety of health and sport-related programs, Dr. Morris is dedicated to advancing evidence-based approaches to health and well-being. His research explores the connections between exercise, physical activity, and multiple dimensions of well-being, as well as the relationship between athletic identity and health outcomes. His work focuses on identifying behavioral primers that support positive health behaviors and promote overall well-being. More recently, Dr. Morris has developed a research interest in examining how Health and Wellness Coaching, particularly group coaching approaches, can facilitate effective goal planning and goal attainment among individuals living with brain injuries.

  • B.S. in Psychology from the University of Missouri; M.S. in Leisure Behavior and Recreation from the University of Missouri; Ph.D. in Health Behavior and Health Promotion from the University of Arkansas.
