Biography

Dr. Aileen Maknati serves as an Associate Professor in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU). She joined the program in 2025 and is committed to supporting the education, professional development, and clinical preparation of future occupational therapists.

Dr. Maknati received her undergraduate degree from Marymount University in 2016. She earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Le Moyne College in 2018 and completed her Doctor of Occupational Therapy at Boston University in 2020.

As an occupational therapist, Dr. Maknati has clinical experience across a variety of rehabilitation settings, including acute rehabilitation, subacute rehabilitation, and long-term care. Her diverse clinical background enables her to integrate evidence-based occupational therapy practice with classroom instruction and provide students with meaningful connections between academic learning and real-world clinical experiences. She has also mentored and supervised students throughout their clinical education experiences.
