Revamped York Road Education & Service Program Provides New Service Opportunities for Students


BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University’s York Road Education & Service (YES) Program began during the 2018-19 academic year as primarily a tutoring initiative to support children at a pair of nearby Baltimore schools. After an extended pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, one NDMU alumna has spent the past 10 months not just restarting the program, but overseeing a significant expansion to benefit both Notre Dame students and the surrounding community.

School of Education Continues Work with SSNDs to Support Teacher Training Initiatives in Haiti


BALTIMORE – Service to others has been a cherished value of Notre Dame of Maryland University dating back to its foundation by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1895. The two institutions have displayed that continuing commitment in recent years through an extensive teacher training program to support education initiatives in Haiti.

The NDMU Art Hive, facilitated by members of the NDMU Art Therapy Department and students, welcomes the NDMU community and everyone else for free and open art making! Join us in Fourier 102 for self-care, skill-sharing and community building! An abundance of art supplies is provided, and the space is wheelchair accessible.  No RSVP required- drop in! All ages and abilities are welcome to attend.

Art Hives provide an opportunity for open-studio-style shared making, skills sharing, communication, and community building between participants. The NDMU Art Hive is held every Monday from 12 to 2 pm, and the second Saturday of each month from 10 am to 12 pm.
