The College Tour is a TV series brought to you by multi-award winning producers that tells the story of colleges and universities around the world. The show filmed on NDMU’s campus for five days last fall.  
 
It features the stories of nine students and one alumna focusing on all areas of campus life - Community & Belonging, International Students, Academics & Athletics, Leadership and Involvement, Academic Research, Athletics, The Honors Program, Diversity & Inclusion, Attending College in Baltimore and Alumni Success. 

Come celebrate the hard work of Leanna Blackman, Jefferson Da Silva, Averee Radonovich, Nisttha Khushi Ray, Andrew Subida, Bethani Newbold, Erin Shaw, Tyliah Jenkins, Michael Leath, and Jolisse Gray.

Community Members Celebrated at Black Excellence Gala
Black Excellence Gala Attendees

Notre Dame of Maryland University hosted its inaugural Black Excellence Gala in a packed Doyle Formal last Thursday. Held on the final day of Black History Month, community members celebrated those who go above and beyond to make a positive impact on the University community. Congratulations to all award winners, and a special shoutout to the Galant Gators dance group, winners of the Black Arts Award, for performing during the gala!

NDMU Hosts 2024 Maryland Collegiate Honors Council Conference

NDMU welcomed honors programs from across the state to campus on February 23 as the host site for the 2024 Maryland Collegiate Honors Council (MCHC) conference! Three Notre Dame students - Anna Choudhary '25, Nwanneka Udolisa '25, and Jensen Armstrong '24 - were recognized for research excellence and leadership.

A total of 10 students from NDMU’s Elizabeth Morrissy Honors Program were among those to present work at the two-day event, which continued in a virtual format on Saturday. Participants included students from honors programs at a total of 10 different Maryland institutions.

NDMU's School of Pharmacy hosted its annual Culture Day celebration last Friday night! Thanks to all participants and supporters who stopped by LeClerc for the event, which included performances, a fashion/talent show, and food highlighting cultures of the entire campus.

Pharmacy Student Works Towards Third NDMU Degree

Kunjrani Pani

Kunjrani Pani ’10, M’18, D’25 has come a long way since she first enrolled at Notre Dame as an undergraduate back in 2006.

Pani, currently a third-year student who holds several leadership roles in the School of Pharmacy, is working towards her third degree at NDMU after previously earning a bachelor’s degree in biology from the School of Arts, Sciences, and Business and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the School of Education.

Women's Basketball Concludes Season in United East Skye Division Final

Thanks to all of our amazing fans who cheered on NDMU’s basketball programs this winter! Another year to remember for the women's basketball team included a second-straight 20-win season and a 13-3 record at MBK Sports Complex. NDMU supporters cheered the team down to the final whistle of the United East Skye Division final, which was held at MBK on February 21.

NDMU Master’s Student Earns The DAISY Nurse Leader Award

A current master’s student in NDMU’s School of Nursing was presented with The DAISY Nurse Leader Award in recognition of her commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate care.

Suja Prashant M’24 received the award during a ceremony at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC), where she works as a clinical coordinator on an observation floor. Suja is currently enrolled in NDMU’s Leadership in Nursing Administration master’s program.

Former Paraeducator Fulfills Lifelong Dream of Earning Degree, Becoming Full-Time Teacher

Sarah Morris '24

In the eight years that Sarah Morris ’24 spent as a paraeducator for Montgomery County Public Schools, she always had an eye on transitioning to a full-time teacher in the future. Morris’s desire to teach dated back to when she herself was a MCPS high school graduate over 20 years ago.

Coworkers and family members encouraged Morris to take the first step towards teaching full-time by enrolling at a local community college. After two years there, she transferred to NDMU’s School of Education, completing her bachelor’s degree and certification in special education last December.

Former Paraeducator Fulfills Lifelong Dream of Earning Degree, Becoming Full-Time Teacher


BALTIMORE – In the eight years that Sarah Morris ’24 spent as a paraeducator for Montgomery County Public Schools, she always had an eye on transitioning to a full-time teacher in the future.

Morris’s desire to teach dated back to when she herself was a MCPS high school graduate over 20 years ago. As a paraeducator, she went out of her way to work with students at all grade levels to give herself experience for a future expanded role.

Join NDMU's School of Education and guest speaker Ali Tabrizi for a Netflix documentary viewing followed by discussion on sustainability and social justice.

Ali Tabrizi is an investigative documentary filmmaker, conservationist, and director of the renown Netflix Original documentary, Seaspiracy. He is the founder of Disrupt Studios and an inspiring speaker on sustainability, conservation, human and animal rights and the future of food.

Seaspiracy, released in March 2021, has sparked debate across the world. The documentary, which investigates the environmental and ecological impact of the fishing industry, quickly climbed to Netflix’s top ten most popular films across the globe, grabbing the attention and support of members of the public and A-list celebrities alike. Initially, Tabrizi started the project as a means to show “how incredible the oceans are,” however the narrative of the film changed upon the shocking revelations that the natural world is far from the pristine habitats presented in most other nature films. Tabrizi exposes a number of issues, ranging from the disposal of plastic trash such as fishing nets and the harm caused to marine animals as ‘bycatch,’ to accusations of slavery and corruption within the fishing industry, NGOs and governments.
