Renaissance Institute Hosts Inaugural Legacy Lecture

Linda Rabben

The Renaissance Institute hosted its inaugural Legacy Lecture in the LND library on November 13. The institute welcomed Dr. Linda Rabben, author and activist, who presented a riveting lecture based on her book, "Through a Glass Darkly: The Social History of Stained Glass in Baltimore." The event was simultaneously broadcast on Zoom for members of the community who were unable to attend in person. Dr. Rabben's lecture was a historical tour of stained glass in Baltimore, taking those in attendance through decades and neighborhoods.

Dr. Rabben’s presentation also served as a taster for her upcoming six-week course at Renaissance Institute, which will dive deeper into the material and include class visits by stained glass artists and historians. A reception beforehand honored former Renaissance Institute Director Shirley Bigley-Lamotte for her hard work and dedication to RI over the years.
