Student Success Advocate Named AVP & Dean of Students

(BALTIMORE, Md.) A student affairs administrator and student success advocate was named associate vice president and dean of students at Notre Dame of Maryland University following a national search.

Dr. Meaghan Davidson joins NDMU’s Student Life Division on Feb. 21. She will lead a department that provides robust programs and services to enrich the student experience, including service and community engagement, inclusion and community standards, and residence life.

All are invited to join a Virtual Black History Month Presentation with Shannen Dee Williams, a renowned author-historian of the African American experience with research and teaching specializations in women’s, religious, and Black freedom movement history. The event is free, but registration is required in advance.

The morning session will focus on Dr. William’s research on the often forgotten history of the Black Sister-hood and her forthcoming book: Subversive Habits: Black Catholic Nuns in the Long African American Freedom Struggle. After lunch from 12 to 1 pm, the afternoon session will open up a conversation on “The Historical Role of the Catholic Church in Slavery and the Need for Restorative Justice.”

An annual Notre Dame tradition returns, as we celebrate our Women's College seniors and begin the countdown to Commencement! The evening begins with a cocktail hour in Doyle Formal before moving into the Doyle dining hall around 7 p.m.
