Notre Dame of Maryland University requires all full-time students to carry personal health insurance. This year, all eligible students will automatically be enrolled in the University-Sponsored Health Insurance Plan. If you currently have outside health coverage, you have the option to opt out of the University Sponsored Plan. If you do not waive coverage you will see a bill for the University-Sponsored Health Insurance plan on your student bill 8/23/24. Please note this is an annual process, each school year you will need to waive coverage if you have insurance outside of the University- Sponsored Plan.

Who is Eligible?

  • Undergraduate Students (Undergraduate Studies, SON and CAUS) - Taking at least 12 credits per semester
  • International Students - All Full and Part Time Students
  • Graduate Students - Those who are enrolled in a professional healthcare program Full Time (School of Pharmacy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Art Therapy, and MSN students).

How to Enroll or Waive Coverage

Students once registered for classes can go to RCM&D and create/log in to their account to enroll or waive coverage.

Students will also receive reminders to their University email address with instructions for enrolling or waiving the insurance coverage.

Deadlines to Enroll or Waive Benefits

All eligible students have until the following dates  to make their choice to either enroll or waive the insurance plan through WellFleet Student’s online system if they do not wish to pay for the University’s student health insurance plan.

Annual Process

Please keep in mind that this is an annual process. If you return to Notre Dame of Maryland University as a full-time student next year and wish to keep the University-sponsored plan, you will need to repeat the enrollment process.

If you decide not to keep the plan next year, you will be required to complete the waiver process and provide information regarding comparable health coverage for the upcoming year.

If you are already insurance through an alternative plan, you will need to complete the insurance waiver form online at: https://rcmdstudentbenefits.com/ndmu/ . If you do not waive by 7/31/23, you will see a charge for insurance on your student bill.

This is an annual process, we encourage you to re-enroll in the plan through the online portal: https://rcmdstudentbenefits.com/ndmu/. Proactively enrolling in the new plan will ensure you have no gaps in coverage.
