  • Wednesday March 10 7p-8:30p Candidate Meet & Greet (Zoom link will be available closer to the date)
  • March 15 - 26: Voting period
  • March 26-30: Review of Election Results & Notification to Newly Elect (pending acceptance of elected positions)
  • March 31: Election results announced

Board of Trustees - Student Representatives

Board of Trustees Student Representatives considers and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees regarding all matters of the student experience as it pertains to the focus areas of each of the committees noted below.

Campus Activities Board (CAB)

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is a student-run organization that strives to enhance the NDMU student experience through quality entertainment, creative programming, and community involvement. Our goal is to strengthen the missions of the Office of Student Engagement & Community Programs, Division of Student Life and NDMU by providing a variety of social, recreational, cultural, and educational programs.

Class Councils

Class Council Boards serve the student body with the purpose of fostering school spirit and involvement while improving student success and the quality of life for the undergraduate students of NDMU. The Class Council Boards serve as the overarching link between the students and their designated graduation year and create tradition for their class.

Honor Board

The Honor Board educates the community about the Honor Pledge and attends hearings at which alleged violations of academic and behavioral standards of conduct are reviewed.

Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) Student Advisory Council

The Student Advisory Council advises the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) on the concerns, perspectives, and experiences of students attending Maryland institutions. The nominated student should be an individual who has an awareness of and an interest in student and campus affairs. The student should also be able to contribute to discussions and offer recommendations on matters of statewide importance that affect their constituents.  The nominated student must be available to serve the full academic term and attend monthly Council meetings throughout the year, typically held on Saturdays at different campuses throughout the State. 

MHEC is the State of Maryland's higher education coordinating board responsible for establishing statewide policies for Maryland public and private colleges and universities and for-profit career schools. MHEC also administers state financial aid programs that affect students on a statewide basis.

Nominations for this position will be reviewed by Notre Dame of Maryland University administration and appointed as representative for the university. Additional information will be provided to the nominee at the time of notification regarding next steps in the appointment process.

Resident Hall Association (RHA)

President

The President serves as the spokesperson of all residential students at Notre Dame of Maryland University. The President of RHA presides over the Executive Board and oversees the recruitment and election of Council Members. The person selected to the President position shall be in charge of RHA meetings, with the help of the Vice President, and organize events, training, and all other programs hosted by RHA. The president shall act in the residential students’ best interest and serve as their advocate.

Vice President

The Vice President of RHA will assist the President with any duties as necessary. Their role, similar to the President’s is to be an advocate for residential students and make sure that their voices are heard. The Vice President will step into the President’s role in their absence. In this role, the VP will work closely with RHA advisors and other executive board members to ensure the smooth operation of the organization.

Treasurer

RHA’s treasurer maintains a complete account for the budget distributed during the semester with the help of RHA advisor(s). It is the duty of the Treasurer to assist with developing or amending the request for proposal funds form as well as train each individual Community Council on how to accurately complete this request. Lastly, the treasurer shall complete all paperwork required for programming on behalf of the organization.

Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator will be in charge of all advertising, social media activity, and communication distribution. The communications communicator can also work with other RHA representatives from other universities to organize joint events.

Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the unified voice of the undergraduate student body to encourage and facilitate campus wide communication and student engagement. In recognition of its responsibility to the students at Notre Dame of Maryland University, SGA strives to improve the quality of the student experience with a holistic approach regarding all aspects of student needs, addressing student concerns, and providing fiscal support to student organizations for programming and encouraging leadership development beyond the classroom.
