Our organization enhances the Residence Hall community with events and activities and acts as the governing body of the residence halls.

What Does the RHA Do?

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) of Notre Dame of Maryland University represents all students living on campus. We work to create a strong, supportive, and fun community within the residence halls. The mission of RHA is to enhance student’s living experiences by organizing events, offering support, and advocating for positive changes. RHA duties include:

  • Advocacy: We represent student interests by working with campus leaders and university officials to ensure their needs are heard and met.
  • Event Planning: From movie nights to community days, we create fun and exciting events for students living in the residence halls.
  • Community Building: RHA fosters a sense of community within the residence halls by encouraging inclusivity, social activities, and student involvement.
  • Leadership Development: Gain valuable experience planning events and town hall meetings, working with a team, and engaging with your peers in a meaningful way.

Why Join the RHA?

The Residence Hall Association is the perfect way to get involved in a leadership position, meet new people, and make a positive impact on the NDMU community. RHA members play an active role in shaping the culture of the residence halls, creating exciting events, and ensuring that every student’s voice is heard.

Some of RHA's goals and responsibilities include:

  • Leadership Opportunities: RHA gives you the chance to develop your leadership skills by organizing events, advocating for student needs, and leading initiatives that improve campus life.
  • Make Lifelong Connections: Meet and collaborate with other students who are passionate about making a difference.
  • Make a Positive Impact: Be a part of decision-making processes that affect your residence hall and the broader campus community. Help shape policies, address student concerns, and create a vibrant living environment.
  • Be the Change: Whether you’re helping with community service projects, organizing sustainability initiatives, or creating social spaces for students, RHA gives you the tools to make a difference.

How to Get Involved

Students are elected by their peers for a one-year (two-semester) term to become the President, Vice President, or Communication Coordinator of RHA.
