Statement on Peaceful Protest and the NDMU Admissions Process

Notre Dame of Maryland University is founded upon the mission of creating leaders who will transform the world, and recognizes that transformation sometimes occurs when people, utilizing civil discourse, critical thinking and responsibility, take part in peaceful protest.

The University supports students' voices and actions when they choose to speak out against injustice and issues they feel are important to them and their communities.

Any disciplinary action taken as a result of participation in peaceful protests will not affect a student’s admission to Notre Dame. The University and our enrollment process does not hold anything against students who protest in a peaceful, thoughtful, and law-abiding way, and supports their actions to transform their world.
