NDMU’s Jump in U.S. News Best Colleges Rankings Reaffirms Position as Best Value Leader

Rankings Recognize Notre Dame as One of the Top Universities in the Region

BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University continues to rank as one of the region’s best value schools and one of the nation’s top universities overall, as all of its rankings increased in the 2024 U.S. News Best Colleges list.

NDMU jumped nine places to #39 in the northern region for the Best Value Schools ranking and tied at #54 for top schools in the region, an increase of 14 spots. Notre Dame had one of its greatest increases with a 45-spot jump into a tie at #18, making it #1 among Maryland schools, on the Top Performers in Social Mobility list.

The social mobility rankings are designed to indicate how well the University graduates students with demonstrated financial need. The 2024 U.S. News Best Colleges rankings also includes Notre Dame’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program among the nation’s best.

U.S. News & World Report develops its rankings based on 17 indicators to determine academic quality, including student outcomes, graduation and retention rates, social mobility, faculty resources, expert opinion, student excellence, and alumni giving. The magazine includes more than 1,400 institutions that award bachelor’s degrees.
