Message in Response to Supreme Court’s Decision to Strike Down Affirmative Action in College Admissions

A message from the president graphic

In light of Thursday’s Supreme Court decision striking down affirmative action in college admissions programs, I want to reaffirm our commitment to diversity and inclusion in all we do at Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Our mission to build inclusive communities calls us to provide a welcoming educational environment for all NDMU students that celebrates diversity and promotes belonging for every member of our community. U.S. News & World Report recognizes the diversity of our students by ranking NDMU #24 for campus ethnic diversity among colleges and universities in the regional north. At Notre Dame, we understand the importance of creating communities that reflect our dedication to inclusion and that challenges us to develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of our differences.

The NDMU community advances our mission every day and in every interaction when we embrace the dignity of all people. We take a stand to uphold the values of diversity and inclusion that define our NDMU community and make our University a place where our students become their best selves.
