(BALTIMORE, Md.) – Honored for excellence in student leadership development, Notre Dame of Maryland University’s associate vice president for student life won a regional award by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), the leading global voice of student affairs.
Dr. Brandy Garlic received the Outstanding Contribution to Student Leadership Programs Award for NASPA’s Region II, which includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, and Puerto Rico, along with several international locations. Presented at the virtual regional conference earlier this month, the award recognizes higher education professionals who have made a significant contribution to their institution through programs, policies, staff, or student development. As a regional award winner, Dr. Garlic will also be considered for national recognition.
Dr. Garlic leads Notre Dame’s robust and inclusive student life programming, which comprises leadership, service, campus ministry, student engagement activities, counseling, accessibility services, residence life, and health and wellness.
“I am passionate about supporting our students, building my team, and moving the university and its mission forward,” Garlic said. “It is humbling to receive this award, and I am grateful to all of the members of the Notre Dame community who submitted letters of support on my behalf.”
