State-of-the-Art Facilities
The School of Nursing houses 2 state-of-the-art simulation centers called the Center for Caring with Technology (CCT) – one at the Charles Street Campus in Baltimore and one at the Elkridge Learning Site.
The Center for Caring with Technology at the Charles Street Campus supports the on-ground BSN and MSN programs. It is an 8,300-square-foot space that includes an array of learning spaces: two health assessment and adult medical-surgical simulation rooms; an obstetrical, newborn, and pediatric simulation room with a home health component; and two examination rooms
The Center for Caring with Technology at the Elkridge Learning Site supports students in the Hybrid ABSN program. It includes 2 medical-surgical simulation rooms, a home health and obstetrics simulation room, a large 12-bed skills laboratory with classroom space, 3 debrief rooms, two 48-seat classrooms, and a testing accommodations room.
The Center also fills an essential role in meeting the urgent demand for more nurse educators by supporting graduate courses in the MSN Leadership in Nursing Education concentration.
Our simulation centers foster varied and intensive simulations in all programs across the curriculum. The Center for Caring with Technology is used extensively in the Entry-Level BSN program, MSN Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Programs. Simulations provide a realistic and risk-free environment for students to practice nursing skills and develop clinical reasoning.
