Academic probation means that a student has fallen below a specific grade point average level to stay in good academic standing. This grade point average (gpa) is currently 2.0 for all undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduation students.
Students falling below this threshold will have an "academic probation" status listed on their official transcript for that semester. An academic "contract" and plan is usually developed with the academic advisor. This plan outlines how to provide programming and support to bring the students grades back to "good standing" (over the threshold gpa).
Students who do not meet the requirements outlined by the academic contract and/or continually fall below good academic standing could be dismissed from the University.
