The Office of International Programs at Notre Dame of Maryland University has certain responsibilities to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

We issue I-20 documents based on DHS regulations and also maintain required records on students with F-1 Visas. We provide immigration assistance and information to students requesting reinstatement, change of status, transfers, reporting lost documents, etc.

Regulations for International Students

As an international student you are subject to complex federal regulations. You are responsible for knowing these regulations and complying with them. Your eligibility for opportunities such as employment, school transfers, and program changes depends on maintaining lawful status.

Legal responsibility for maintaining one's immigration status lies with each individual student and not the school or the International Student Advisor. We provide a certain amount of immigration information so that you can make informed decisions.
