Benefits

Students interested in studying Education who commit to the International Teacher Education Partnership (ITEP) program could receive:

  • International teaching and living experience.
  • Potential scholarships or reduced tuition from Notre Dame of Maryland University.
  • Opportunities to earn bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or teaching certification from Notre Dame of Maryland University.

How it works

Students in the ITEP program will work in local districts school districts part-time during the program. Upon completion of coursework, ITEP students have the option of working for at least one year following the successful completion of their degree (and longer should the school districts sponsor H1-B visas). Starting salary for public school teachers in Maryland is between $43K-55K+; Maryland seeks to raise this starting salary to $60K beginning in July 2026 (Md. Code, Educ. § 6-1009).
