BALTIMORE – Students from Notre Dame of Maryland University’s Elizabeth Morrissy Honors Program and School of Pharmacy traveled across the United States recently for conferences which provided a variety of educational and networking opportunities.

Four Morrissy program members presented work at the 2023 Northeast Regional Honors Council, which was held in Pittsburgh from March 30 through April 2. The theme of this year’s conference, which takes place annually and welcomes members from nearly 200 colleges and universities, was “Building Resilience from Tragedy: Understanding Hate, Violence, Loss, and Reconciliation.”

Anna Choudhary ’25 and Eliza Davis ’25 hosted a roundtable discussion on their topic, “Rewriting the History of Women’s Education,” while Caitlin Cottrill ’26 (I Will Die a Woman with Grieving: Shakespeare’s Women, Grief, and Resilience) and Rebecca Becraft ’26 (Dance Your Way [Through Tragedy]) were featured in the Performing Arts and Film Showcase.

A large contingent of students from NDMU’s chapter of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), meanwhile, traveled west for the APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Phoenix. This year’s theme for the conference, which took place from March 24-27, was “RISE! Advancing in the Face of Adversity.”

The trip allowed the group to interact with thousands of fellow students and professionals from across the country during career sessions, position workshops and APhA-ASP House of Delegates meetings.
