As such, the University does not discriminate against students, faculty or staff based on sex in offering equal access to its educational programs and activities or with respect to employment terms and conditions. Notre Dame of Maryland University’s Sexual Harassment & Other Sexual Misconduct Policy, in addition to federal (Title IX) and State law, prohibit discrimination and harassment on the basis of sex in University programs and activities. Per the Policy, faculty are considered Mandatory Reporters and are required to report all known information regarding alleged conduct that may be a violation of the Policy to the Title IX Coordinator. Reports are required regardless of the amount of detail provided and even in instances where support has already been offered or received. Students can request confidentiality from the institution, which I will communicate to the Title IX Coordinator. If students want to speak with someone confidentially, resources are available on and off campus at www.ndm.edu/TitleIX. Speaking with a confidential resource does not preclude students from making a formal report to the Title IX Coordinator if and when they are ready. Confidential resources can walk students through all of their reporting options. They can also provide students with information and assistance in accessing academic, medical, and other support services they may need.

Additionally, NDMU’s Pregnancy and Related Conditions Policy outlines resources for pregnant, parenting, and breastfeeding students. Pregnant and parenting students are encouraged to contact the Office of Accessibility and Inclusion and the Title IX Coordinator to discuss plans and ensure ongoing access to their academic program including Reasonable Modifications based on their individual needs.
