Make Your Mark

IMPRINT distinguishes the NDMU student’s experience. A comprehensive, four-year program, IMPRINT prepares you to lead in all aspects of your life.

Through IMPRINT, you’ll connect to mentors and grow as an ethical decision-maker, an effective communicator, and a global citizen.

You’ll reflect regularly and meaningfully on your campus experiences– and you’ll build a portfolio that recognizes your achievements and your participation in a wide range of unique opportunities and special programming.

In addition to earning a Notre Dame degree, you will develop the knowledge, skills, and values– as well as hone your confidence and courage– to make your mark on the world.

The Four Pillars

Informed by industry-leaders including Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) alumnae and faculty, the four pillars of IMPRINT are what shape the NDMU experience.

  1. Personal LeadershipAlong your path to success, your personal mission statement will help to drive choices and set priorities. Using assessment tools, you’ll explore your skills and talents, and then create a clear plan to develop them. You’ll learn ethical decision-making, financial literacy, and principles of health and holistic wellness that will guide you personally and professionally.

  2. Building a Network of Mentors & Advocates: During your time at NDMU, you’ll develop relationships with mentors who can guide and encourage you as you navigate your educational and career paths. You’ll also build a relationship with a sponsor, or advocate—a seasoned professional in your field of interest who can advise you and help you to advance in your career.

  3. Global Understanding; Diversity & InclusionThrough an integral global experience at NDMU, you’ll learn to value diversity and inclusion. Engaging in a wide range of opportunities—from study abroad to student organizations to service—you’ll develop global awareness and recognize perspectives other than your own. You’ll grow as a global citizen, ready to succeed in an increasingly global world.

  4. Teamwork and Communications

At NDMU, you will often find yourself working with others. These opportunities to collaborate will build important team skills. You’ll sharpen your strategic thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills. You’ll learn to share ideas, and value the ideas of others. You’ll find your voice. You’ll thrive as part of a team.

Over the course of your four years at NDMU, unique opportunities and special programming based on IMPRINT’s four pillars will be infused into every facet of your NDMU experience including academics, athletics, campus activities, and events

In addition to earning a NDMU degree, you will develop the knowledge, skills and values—as well as hone your confidence and courage—to make your unique mark on the world.
