Event Description: Marti Tirinnanzi ‘82 will share her own corporate board journey and how she became appointed to the Board of Directors of the Intercontinental Exchange, a Fortune 500 company and parent company of the iconic New York Stock Exchange, along with a number of global futures exchanges and technology companies. She will provide a road map to beginning your own board journey, with the goal of joining a non-profit, private or public company board of directors.

About Marti Tirinnanzi

headshot of martiMarti Tirinnanzi is the Founder and President of Financial Standards, Inc., a consulting company with offices in Washington, DC and New York City. Since 1996, when the company was founded, Marti has advised REITs, banks, securities/futures brokerages, and commodity-dependent manufacturing companies in the areas of price and rate risk management, hedging strategies using derivatives contracts, financial instrument accounting, and regulatory compliance. She is also well known among Washington, DC policy circles, and regularly advises Congressional staff, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, FDIC, Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), banking regulators and financial markets industry groups on ways to address financial risk.

In March 2022, she was appointed independent director on the Board of the Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE) after serving for several years on two ICE subsidiary boards, ICE Mortgage Services and ICE Mortgage Technology Corporation. Since 2012, Marti has been a member of the Board of Directors of Community Development Trust (CDT), a residential housing REIT and community development financial institution (CDFI). She has chaired the CDT Audit Committee for several years, and recently joined the Audit Committee of ICE.  

 

About the Forum

The Charles J. Busta III Business Forum is designed to showcase the thoughts and experiences of business leaders, especially women, to encourage creativity and personal growth. The series was created in memory of Charles J. “CB” Busta, a Notre Dame trustee and marketing executive who died in 1999.

All individuals invited to speak are accomplished in their chosen fields. We seek inspirational professionals of integrity who have made a real difference, overcome significant obstacles, or delivered dramatic success. We primarily seek women professionals with these credentials to present strong role models who can set a standard of achievement for Notre Dame students.
