NDMU Wishes You a Safe and Joyous Easter

An Easter Message From President Marylou Yam

As these challenging and unfamiliar days of life guided by our response to the Coronavirus pandemic continue, I wanted to reach out to our campus community and recognize the solemn yet joyful season of Easter.

Holidays are often a time when we can spare a few moments to spend in personal reflection, visit with friends and family and count our blessings. During these last several weeks, it has been difficult for any of us to actually pause and think about anything but this pandemic and its affect on us and on those we love.

No one could have imagined that we would all be facing this in such a large-scale way. When I hear stories of our students, faculty and alumnae and alumni who are out in the community helping and facing down this pandemic, I am inspired.

Celebrations, even in the most challenging of times, are necessary. The Easter season offers us an opportunity for hope, renewal, rebirth, and yes, a recommitment to our values. Rebirth and new beginnings are important aspects of life, especially now.

I wish you a joyful Easter and a Happy Passover. May your holidays be filled with hope and (virtual) togetherness.

We continue to pray for those who have been directly affected by this pandemic. We also pray for its speedy end and for the restoration of normalcy and safety. God bless.

Sincerely,

Marylou Yam
