2009 Season Outlook

The Gators will be filling some holes left by the Class of 2008, including First Team All-Conference players Tina Money '08 and Anne Shippen '08.

Returning to pace an offense that finished in the top-25 in NCAA Division III in scoring offense nationally last season is speedy junior Lauren Terry. Terry is the leading returning scorer from 2008, tallying 53 goals and four assists for 57 points. Terry, along with junior Ashley Demski will be counted on to provide breakout seasons on the offensive end. Demski registered 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points in 2008.

The Gators return a mix of veterans and second-year players on both sides of the field. Seniors Kristen Clarke and Nicole McFeaters will provide leadership to second-year player Ebony Rivers and newcomers Sarah Morris and Ashley Cumberland. Also anchoring the defense will be senior Ashleigh Johnson, as the team looks forward to her steady leadership and return to the field after an injury-filled 2008 season.

Amanda Arkwright will return for her senior season between the pipes, while Rivers will continue to learn the goalie position and serve as a backup.

Arkwright made 135 saves last season while starting in all 16 games and playing in more than 910 minutes. Rivers registered an 8.80 goals against average in more than 54 minutes played in three game in net in 2008.
